On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the famous English playwright William Shakespeare, a decision has been made to prepare short films on his 37 dramas.
The special thing about these short dramas is that actors have been sent all over the world to film their dialogues in the locations mentioned in the dramas.
Shakespeare’s fans can now see Cleopatra in real Egypt, Julius Caesar in the Roman Forum, and Hamlet in the city of Elsinore in Denmark, all within the dramas.
These ten-minute films will be presented on April 23rd and 24th, 2016, for display along the Thames in London.
The statement made by Dominic Dromgoole, the artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe, presents the idea and discusses how Shakespeare has been embraced internationally and how the world has adopted him.
He says that all films will be a “complete summary” of each drama and a “complete and comprehensive introduction” will be presented for those who know nothing about Shakespeare’s plays.
During the next six months, photographs will be taken of short films with famous actors working on Shakespeare’s plays. However, the names of those actors who will produce a film at real locations for their dramatic conversation have not yet been announced.
