Shaan Shahid is an actor who was born on April 27th, 1971, in Lahore, to the director Riaz Shahid and the actress Neelo, who worked in theater, film, and television. His father was Punjabi Kashmiri and Muslim, while his mother was Punjabi Christian who later converted to Islam. His uncle, Fayyaz Shahid, was a cameraman and producer for PTV in Islamabad. Shaan has a younger brother named Suroosh Shahid who is also an actor and an older sister named Zarqa Shahid.
Shaan made his debut in the film industry with the movie “Bulandi” in 1990, opposite Reema Khan, who was also making her debut. Since then, he has appeared in hundreds of Urdu and Punjabi language films.
Desiring to bring change to the Pakistani film industry, Shaan launched himself as a director. He directed his passion project “Guns & Roses Junoon Ek” which was released in 1999.
Shaan has a lot of interest in sports. Prior to the second season, he became the brand ambassador for the Lahore Qalandars franchise in the Pakistan Super League. After his stint with the PSL, he was nominated as the brand ambassador for the Kashmir Premier League. In January 2021, he was nominated as the brand ambassador for the Punjab Sports Board.
