Instructions for working on railway line ML-1 on priority basis
A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the reforms in Pakistan Railways and the upgradation of Main Line One. The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Syed Naveed Qamar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq and relevant senior officials. The meeting was briefed about the ongoing reforms and digitalization in the railways. The meeting was informed that after the disastrous floods last year, the railways resumed its operations on an emergency basis. At present, the work on digitalization of railways is going on. Apart from this, the railway ticketing system has also been fully digitized. The meeting was also apprised of the progress on the Main Line One (ML-1) Upgradation project, particularly the various options and phases of the project.
