In the early decades, we used to see how people found their queries on a single piece of paper, i.e., a newspaper. Whatever difficulties they came up with, they took care of the fact that they could get knowledge with sheer authenticity. In the current era, the whole world has been transformed into a digital age where a single click can make us aware of things we don’t know. Slowly and gradually, things have become easier for us to find. In the meantime, we also understood how it has slowed down the human mind and its capacity to explore things on its own. Things aren’t laborious in the digital age now, as compared to the age of print media. In the digital age, the new advancement is upsetting and also leaving behind its side effects. Yes, we are talking about the recent most used technology, i.e., artificial intelligence, that has made the human mind slow to a level that it has become less adept at problem-solving and critical thinking and more reliant on AL to do it for us. This can lead to declines in human intelligence and capabilities over time. The Canadian scientist Geoffrey Hinton, often called the “Godfather of AL,” admits in his interview with The New York Times that a part of him regrets his life’s work. “I console myself with the normal excuse: If I hadn’t done it, somebody else would have done it.” Industry experts are also worried about the explosive rise of generative AI systems like OpenAI’s Chat GPT and the capabilities of the latest GPT model. Over 1,000 leaders, including Elon Musk, recently signed an open letter calling for a moratorium on developing anything more advanced. Despite the objections, this technology is getting more advanced. This rapid advancement in artificial intelligence has sparked intense debates on whether AL systems will replace the human mind. As AI continues to evolve, it’s crucial to understand its potential impact on human intelligence and explore the ways in which these two powerful bodies can coexist harmoniously. AL is up front because of his problem-solving power. AI algorithms can quickly analyze a vast amount of information, identify problems, and generate potential solutions. However, human creativity is still required to evaluate these solutions, taking into account ethical considerations, societal values, and long-term implications. Whatever the advancements are, there is only one fact that is worth considering: how this technology has had a worse impact on the human mind. The impact of AI on human minds and intelligence is a complex and multifaceted topic that has been the subject of much debate among experts in the field. One of the most significant ways in which AI is impacting human intelligence is through the use of machine learning and other forms of AI to process vast amounts of data and make predictions or identify patterns that would be difficult or impossible for humans to discern on their own. Through research, we have learned that humans only use 1% of their brains. And after inventing such technology, the usage of the human brain has decreased to even 1%. This shows that the dependency of humans on technologies has increased and has the chance of increasing further in the future. It has snatched the power of thinking from human beings. Though this technology has the potential to make our lives easier, it also raises concerns about how it will impact the brain of a human being. such as ChatGPT. This is currently the most used technology in AI. People are very impressed by it. They don’t get into the confusion and quickly try to get an answer. It has automatically slowed down the mind and had an adverse effect on it. One of the primary challenges is the potential for AI to violate privacy. AI systems require a large amount of personal data, and if the data falls into the wrong hands, then it can be used for nefarious purposes such as child bullying and identity theft. The pictures can be morphed, and the voice can be used by someone else. There was an advertisement made by some American production where parents posted pictures of their children out of love, but those were used wrongly by the AI. The 8-year-old girl was shown as 20 years younger, and her ordinary dialogues were changed into some intense dialogues, but the voice was the same. Her elder version was narrating through a video how an unintentional act by her parents led to this. The love doesn’t require massive attention to be seen. It should only be felt by the one you love. Sharing pictures can lead to a violation. And also, the reason behind sharing this is that, no matter how much advantage AI can give us, it’s still one of the most dangerous technologies out there, and people need to be aware of this. Another impact that it has is that AI leads to the loss of an immense number of job opportunities. In the current era where seeking jobs is the most difficult task and getting jobs on merit is impossible, launching such technology has even increased the level of unemployment. Recently, it has been noted that two news channels, 24 and the Neo news channel of Pakistani television, have introduced their AI anchors, who are speaking and behaving like humans. Introducing such technologies may have raised the reputation of channels, but they might not be aware of how much jeopardy they have brought to them and, most importantly, to job seekers. This can downgrade the level of journalism in the eyes of the public. Introducing robots or machines to work instead of humans is a very stupid act, as it only hampers the credibility of human beings and their level of thinking. Bias and discrimination in AI are another factor that makes us think more about its credibility. They can have serious consequences for individuals and society, such as unfair treatment, exclusion, or violations of human rights. If you are an AI practitioner, then you must be responsible for ensuring that your AI systems are ethical, fair, and transparent. Whereas most AI users always lack in such categories and show an adverse impact, So after a thorough reading of AI, we see that its disadvantages are greater than its advantages. Although the future of AI is brighter as people’s reliance on it increases day by day, the life of a human being has become a little easier after this, but still, its disadvantages should be taken into consideration. Just for the sake of making life more comfortable and also to come out ahead in the race of inventing technologies, we cannot forget about the sensitive nature of humans. Human action and its way of thinking shouldn’t be dependent on any machine. The scientists need to be taken care of by the inventions they are bringing in the name of experiments. None should bring inventions or technologies that could jeopardize the human brain. And if it comes out, then the users should be quite responsible for using it in such a manner that it can’t affect the brain adversely.
