Army Chief’s announcement to celebrate “Pakistan Martyrs Day” on May 25

Rawalpindi, May 22, 2023: Award distribution ceremony in honor of martyrs and veterans at General Headquarters Rawalpindi.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir awarded military honors to the officers and men of Pakistan Army for their bravery and outstanding service to the nation during operations.
51 officers were awarded the Star of Distinction (Military), 22 officers and jawans were awarded Basalat Medal and 2 jawans were awarded the United Nations Special Medal.
A large number of senior officers of Pakistan Army and families of martyrs participated in the ceremony.

The Army Chief termed the recent attacks on military installations, memorials and sanctuaries of martyrs as very sad and said that they are intolerable.
