National Savings Achieves Unusual Target of PKR 400 Billion in Fresh Bonds for the Current Fiscal Year

Central Directorate of National Savings Surpasses Annual Target and Sets Ambitious Goals for Upcoming Fiscal Year

The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has successfully achieved its annual target of PKR 400 billion in fresh bonds for the fiscal year ending from July 1st to September 30th. According to senior officials at the Central Directorate of National Savings, this surpasses the previous fiscal year’s goal of PKR 1.4 trillion for the fiscal year 2021-22 by an additional PKR 200 billion, promoting a culture of savings in the country.
The CDNS had initially set a target of PKR 1.3 trillion for the fiscal year 2021-22, which aimed to enhance the culture of savings in the country, taking into consideration the prevailing market trends. The CDNS is actively engaged in institutional reforms, introducing new initiatives and innovations. They have recently introduced an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to provide added convenience to their customers.
Furthermore, the Central Directorate of National Savings has set an ambitious goal of PKR 75 billion for Islamic Finance Bonds in the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24. In July 2023, they successfully collected PKR 16 billion in investments through Islamic Investment Bonds.
